Our Campaigns — Join the Movement to Bring People Safely Home

Every journey home begins with support — and every campaign at On The Way Home (OTWH) exists to remove one more barrier for men reentering society in Alabama. Whether it’s housing, mental health care, or parole preparation, your contribution changes the outcome for real people trying to rebuild their lives.

Explore our active and upcoming campaigns below — and choose the one that speaks to your heart.

Paving the Way Home Fundraising Campaign

A Second Chance Starts with a Plan — Help Us Pave the Way Home

Each year, hundreds of men in Alabama walk out of prison with little more than paperwork and a bus ticket. Without a plan, stable housing, or mental health support, many end up homeless, hopeless, or re-incarcerated within months.

Our Paving the Way Home program ensures that no one faces reentry alone. Through personalized parole planning, case management, and mental health stabilization, we walk with each client from pre-release through their first year home. We help them create a sustainable plan — not just to stay out, but to stay well.

Your gift supports:

  • One-on-one parole and reentry case management
  • Mental health referrals and wellness support groups
  • Fresh Start Bags with clothing, toiletries, and essentials
  • Transportation to parole meetings, counseling, and job interviews

Goal: $25,000 — to expand our Paving the Way Home program to reach 100 individuals in 2025.

Impact statement:

Every $250 sponsors one full reentry plan — turning fear into focus, and incarceration into independence.

"We Need a Home" Campaign

Help Us Build a Home for Hope — Our Facility Fund

Right now, On The Way Home operates through community partnerships and borrowed spaces — but our dream is to open a dedicated facility that offers transitional housing, mental health services, and reentry programming under one roof.

A home of our own means more than beds and walls. It means stability, privacy, and dignity for people who’ve gone years without either. It means clients no longer being turned away because shelters are full. It means a permanent, sustainable hub for change.

Your gift builds:

  • A future transitional housing facility for 12–16 men at a time

  • Dedicated mental health and counseling rooms

  • Classrooms for job readiness and life skills

  • A resource center connecting clients to employment and family services

Goal: $100,000 — for property acquisition, renovations, and startup costs.

Impact statement:

Every dollar brings us closer to a physical space where second chances become success stories.
